A Cherry Bomb

July 14, 2013

Last summer I spotted the cutest vintage/retro cherry print swimsuit.  I held off on buying it because I didn’t want to spend the $90.  I’m so glad I did because I was able to make an almost exact copy using the Bombshell Swimsuit pattern by Closet Case Files.

This pattern is just that, the bomb! I love everything about it. It’s so flattering and still covers without being frumpy.  I still can’t believe how easy it was to make a swimsuit.  If your considering making your own stop all the if,  ands,  and buts and buy this pattern.  It’s a dream.

See how happy I am!?  You’ll be that happy too, promise!  Check out my blog post for more pics and construction details.

  1. Love this! Has anyone large busted made this suit? Did it need significant alteration? I’m in love with this pattern but I’m an F cup and I’ve only seen much less “well-endowed” woman making this suit so far. Would so love to rock this though!

    1. Deb,
On the sewalong Heather hosted she mentioned a few things you could do for added support. http://closetcasefiles.blogspot.com/2013/06/bombshell-sewalong-viii-finishing-view-b.html
I’m not sure if any alterations other than that, like cup size would need done. You could always email Heather and ask her. I’d imagine since your working with stretchy spandex materials you shouldn’t have a problem.
And if you haven’t already you can check out the flickr group to see the others made. Maybe there is one close to your size you could ask. http://www.flickr.com/groups/bombshellswimsuit/
      Thanks!! 🙂
