60’s shift

June 8, 2011
So here are the goods for today’s Me Mades. This is a little tunic dress I made from some blue linen and trimmed with some coordinating upholstery fabrics.
This was a sixties shift pattern I made last year but the style looked pretty terrible on me. If you are busty those sixties shift dresses can make you look pregnant. At least that was how I looked. I salvaged the dress by adding a casing under the bust and inserting elastic.
Clinton Kelly from What Not To Wear always says to accentuate the area just under the bust because it has a slimming effect. That’s my folding the laundry show!
