Blue Rose Drawstring Top

April 5, 2011

I made this summery blue rose top recently using a vintage 1950’s pattern.

It’s Advance 8589 from 1958 and I made the straightforward sleeveless top on the right with the drawstring waist.

It was very simple to sew together and I only needed to make a few tweaks. I lengthened it by an inch, took in the sides and back and lowered the front neckline slightly.

I used a printed poplin with a vintage rose print which I absolutely love.  More details on my blog Handmade Jane.  x
