1. I used one of these on my green dress and it was fine as far as handmade ones go. You just need to make sure the belt cover piece is sewn at the correct width, so that it is neither too loose nor too tight!
    I ditched the prong and made a central bar out of fabric to attach the belt to. This might not be strong enough for a functional belt, but was fine for my green dress because it is really only decorative.
