‘Reflection of the Moon’ Frock

September 15, 2010

This ‘Reflection of the Moon’ Frock is made from the vintage reprint Butterick 5209 retro ’47 by using a border print cotton sateen that reminded me of the moon’s reflection in water. This dress was made for the Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations at my son’s school, an event where we will admire the moon, eat mooncakes, drink tea and carry lanterns. 1. Very beautiful. The fabric gives and illusion of being almost sweater like.

I went to your blog thanks for the insight on the contrast pieces.

    You look stunning!

  2. Very nice looking. The fabric is really interesting, and after reading about your inspiration, I totally "see it" . πŸ™‚

    Nice work, as always. πŸ™‚

  3. Wow! Another outfit?!?! You are a sewing MACHINE! But… not literally. πŸ˜‰ Seriously – it is inspiring that you are able to churn out this amount of amazing dresses, and they all look so cute on you! Congrats!

  4. Thank you so much for your sweet comments and encouragement!

@Anonymous: haha…my husband is starting to think i'm turning into a sewing machine too:P
