Mad Men September Competition!

September 1, 2009

For the whole month of September we will be running a Mad Men competition. It’s easy to enter, all you have to do is submit a garment/outfit and tell us which character from the show you could see wearing it. You are welcome to enter as many times as you’d like and any character that appears on the show and any year that is covered by the show is fair game. The winner will be selected by a random number generator, the first entry being number 1 etc.

The competition is sponsored by Michelle of Patterns From The Past with a prize of $25 to be spent in her store along with free shipping anywhere in the world!

Michelle actually supplied the costume department of Mad Men with patterns to be used to create costumes for the show. When any of the garments appear on the show she
will be letting us know and telling us which patterns were used!

She has also supplied some patterns to the new Johnny Depp film Public Enemy.

So, get your entries in, I can’t wait to see what creative things you all come up with!

Happy sewing and good luck to you all!

  1. I loveMad Men and I especially love the way they dress. Another movie I love the clothes on is "The Group." I would make all the clothes in that movie if only I could find it somewhere……

  2. So far, I have seen 1 pattern on Episode 2 a maternity blouse and skirt for Betty Draper. I checked in with the costume department and they confirmed they used the patterns that I sold them in the show! I'm not sure all the patterns will be used for Betty.

  3. What a fun contest. This show has become so iconic. I've started putting Mad Men in all of my early 60's pattern titles. And boy do I have a bunch of them.

And what a fun blog…….can't wait to see what you do next.
