Vintage Sewing

Hello everyone!

June 6, 2009

Hello everyone. I have been reading this for quite some time, but now I finally have the time and the patterns to share! My name is Molly and I am a middle school social studies teacher from New Orleans, La. My mom taught me to sew and always made my brother’s and my Halloween costumes. I still make my own costumes, and have branched out into other clothes as well-especially vintage patterns.

This Advance 9077 pattern was my first project for the summer. It was fairly easy and came together in a day or two. It was my first attempt at binding seams, and it looks good. (especially since I am pretty slap-dash and hate re-doing things that are slightly off.)

It is quilter’s cotton, and much more purple than in the picture. More detail on my blog

  1. Ooo! I tried to buy this pattern on ebay a few months ago! You did a wonderful job with it—the dress is lovely! 😀

  2. I have been hoping to see someone make this pattern up . . . I have it in my stash, but haven't made it yet! Thanks for sharing. Love the color!
