sheath dress

I love sheath dresses as they are so timeless and classic.

I found amazing geometric blue-and-white print and immediately saw a sheath dress! When I found the New Look 6023 pattern I loved the sleek lines and simplicity. I particularly liked the defined waistline.

However, as I studied the differences between the look on the model and the illustrations I felt that I would need to raise the waistline in order to achieve the early style that I was going for as opposed to a later drop waited look. I also fully lined the dress to negate the need for a slip and re-used a belt buckle!

If you want to see more pictures and read about the dress you can do so on my blog!

Hi! I just finished Burda 8995. It’s a sweet sixties inspired sheath dress with a shortie jacket top. This pattern is no longer in print, but it is not old. This was a great pattern to work with, and both the dress and the jacket were easy to make.

The cotton barkcloth fabric heightens the sixties feel. For all the details please feel free to stop by my blog for more information!
