If you sew vintage or retro-inspired clothes, we can’t wait to see what you’re making! Whether you love using vintage patterns, vintage fabric, or just create garments that have a retro feel to them, you’ll fit right in here!
What if I just want to read and don’t want to post?
You’re in good company – We Sew Retro is a source of inspiration for sewing/vintage enthusiasts worldwide! If you want to keep up with our creations but don’t want to blog about your own sewing, you don’t need to become a member – just subscribe to our RSS feed to have posts automatically delivered to your RSS reader of choice or subscribe by email to get all the week’s posts delivered to you in one big glorious email every Friday.
Do I have to have my own blog in order to post?
No, there’s no requirement to have your own blog. In fact, if you don’t want the hassle or commitment of maintaining a website, We Sew Retro is perfect for you. Every member gets an archive page (for example, see mine) that you can use as a digital portfolio, so all your work is up online (and getting gobs of traffic) without much effort from you.
If you do have your own blog or website, just put it into your profile and it will appear all over the site giving you plenty of opportunities to pick up new readers.
Many of our members also run businesses selling vintage clothing or supplies, but at We Sew Retro we want to see what you’re sewing, not what you’re selling. Posts deemed to be advertisements will be subject to moderation. You are more than welcome to place a link to your vintage/sewing shop in your profile. If you are interested in sponsoring a competition or a giveaway for the community, please contact Katherine to discuss.
What happens when I register?
When you click register, you will pick a username and let us know your email address. We’ll email you a password, and when you log in to the site, you will have enough access to create your first post. You should tell us a little about who you are and what you do. We love pictures! When you submit your first post, it goes into a moderation queue. Once your first post is approved, you’re in! Any posts you create from that point on will be published to WeSewRetro without delay.
