1930’s Fashion School Project

By on August 6, 2012

Hello! It’s been quite awhile since I’ve posted anything but I had to share what I found recently because I just think it’s awesome! I love to collect old scrapbooks, especially if they include anything fashion or travel related.   This scrapbook is from a 7th grade girl and I believe (based on the Girl Scout shoe style) the year would’ve been 1933 or 1934.

She must have had to put together examples of a complete wardrobe, everything from her Girl Scout uniform, to school and party dresses, beach wear and “under things”. LOL

One of the things I love most about this scrapbook is that not only does she have examples that she cut out from magazines and catalogs, but she also included swatches of the fabrics she would have chosen for each outfit!  I also think it’s amazing that someone cared for this book for over 80 years!! It is in amazing condition for it’s age.

I’m sure she was thrilled to get  a 98% on her project, it looks like she put a lot of effort into putting the entire thing together.  You can find pictures of all the pages along with details on who made this book on my blog!
