I got married last week and I had two and a half months to put together everything. My two bridesmaids and find someone to do my dress, or at least most of my dress.
I love a bit of vintage feel, but I also enjoy modernizing it a little. But you can see what era I am a big fan of yourselves. Just a few images now, I will do more on my blog on the weekend.

Although I am a big lover of silk hemp and other natural fabrics, I sometimes do some odd and quirky sewing with materials that aren’t the usual.

This tends to lean towards wearable art, I have used plastic bags, bottle tops and packaging straps.

This time I used punctured bicycle tubes

it was interesting to work with, but I enjoyed  the challange.

here is a taster, I am hoping to get into a runway show with it fingers crossed.

Lady A design Tubless

don’t worry she is wearing a unitard, it is just flesh coloured lyrca.

if there is anyone else that enjoys working with odd materials I would love to see what you have made.

I have had this pattern from the lovely Folkwear Patterns for a little while now, its Rosie the riveter #240

I decided I needed something for Christmas to wear and that one seemed a quick one to do the night before.

I made it from cotton because here in Australia it gets pretty hot at Christmas (and it was nearly 40 C)

and here is a quick photo.

I will do more posting next year have great new year
