DuBarry houserobe

This is a housecoat I made this week. It’s comfy and warm and based on this pattern:

I sewed the ties into the robe so that I won’t lose them!
it’s not finished. I have to finish the collar, its looking pretty crappy right now and I have to add ties to the inside of the robe. I wore it last night, pretty comfy. This sucker needs almost 5 (or is it 6?) metres!

DRESSFORM DESIRES

Hello, how is everyone?  I’m working on 2 dresses right now. The first is from a late 1950s 1961/62 pattern (thank you Katherine for giving me the proper date)  by simplicity. I’ll post the second once I’ve fitted it on the dressform.

I'm making view 3 (purple dress) b/c I ran out of Buffalo and I couldn't find it at the fabric store!! Oh well, it's still awesome! I wasn't in the mode to add buttons to I got rid of that and the front is all one piece.

It's difficult to see the collar but it's there! LOVE these buffalos! Since I have adjusted the bodyform to my height I will be taking off more than a few inches off the bottom. It's just too long. My knees are not that low!

I hope everyone had an excellent weekend of sewing!

Pajama love!

I FINALLY finished the pajamas from the advance pattern. My mom is modelling them so they look kinda big on her because they are for my sister. This is my first time working with an unprinted pattern and it was actually pretty easy, I was confused with the different size dots but I got through it! I will make this again. This is also my first time working with buttons.

My mom isn’t the best model. . .she did her own pose and then she was talking as I snapped a pic and didn’t even notice my dog Bambam was there! These pjs are super roomy and I love the fabric. It’s some cotton blend, very soft.

This is the pattern:

Hello. I’ve been reading the wonderful posts on this site for about 8 or 9 months and have felt so inspired by the beautiful dresses and other creations I’ve seen. I just recieved my first 3 vintage patterns and am excited to say that I cut out the pieces for a pair of pj’s for my sister who doubts my mad sewing skills. I’ll show her!

Will post the pics when I’m finished. Hopefully by the end of the week!

Thanks,

Mina

The pj’s are a 1950 pattern. i’m making view 1-sans lace and pockets. Here are the 2 dress patterns.
