After waiting 2 weeks for the buttons to arrive, I finally finished this dress!
It’s made of a medium thick wool (keeps me warm! ), it’s lined with usual polyester lining and for the first time, I used bound buttonholes. Really gives the garment a nice finish. I took a detail picture as well. 9 in total took me quite some time to sew, but alas, they’re done now and they’re okay 😀
For the pattern I used Burda 7179 for the top part and the skirt was made with a Butterick pattern. Although I simply cannot remember the exact number, it’s from their retro line.
The collar isn’t exactly the same on each side, but that’s okay with me. I have a hard time sewing lapel collars, so this is still a great result (at least for me! ).
Unfortunately the sleeves got a bit too short ( I ran out of fabric), so I mostly wear them either rolled up or like in the photos.
So far I’m still debating wether or not I should insert some pockets into the side seams, because pockets, well, they make everything better, right? 😀
So, I hope you like my new favourite dress as much as I do!
It definitely is going to be worn a lot during this years winter, that’s for sure! 😀
