retro 60s shift

Hi retro sewers,

Inspired by Gerties many versions, I thought I’d give this retro shift a try.

It took a while to get hold of the pattern (Simplicity 1609), I think it must be very popular and Addicted to Fabric ordered it in for me.

It made up easily and because the material had some spandex I didn’t need a zip. I even used bias binding rather than facings.

It’s a very practical summer dress. I even made another, in blue and white.

More details of both on my blog Barbarajanemade.

Thanks for reading and happy sewing.

Very nice! I especially like the blue and white shift, which makes me think of summer.
