I’ve always wanted a pair of red slacks so when I found this McCalls pattern in my size it was like fate.

This was my first attempt at making trousers and I’m pretty pleased with how they turned out!

More details can be found on the blog.

Ooh I’m so impressed. These look great on you. Did you have to take in the legs at all? My 60′s pant attempt ended up HUGE and I am still working on downsizing them to fit me.

Thank you! Yes I had to take the inside leg seam in by about 1.5″ to get them to fit.

They look amazing! I’m hoping to face my fears and sew some pants this fall/winter, and was going to make a more forties style, but these make me wonder if I should try a fifties pattern instead.

Thank you :) I’d love to make some 40s ones, I have a few repro pairs that I wear for dancing and they are so comfortable!

Gorgeous! Thanks for sharing I have made a pair of pants from a very similar pattern, and had the wow-wide-leg feeling, so plan to make another pair but take them in. So, good to hear your adjustment to the leg.

Also the inside finish on your blog post, looks tidy – I love to see how other sewers finish the insides of their garments.

Those are so cute and awesome! I love the look of red pants! I actually have that pattern myself, but have only used it for shorts so far. I don’t have good pants legs (doesn’t that sound ridiculous), but I hope to one day give the pants version of this pattern a try (which will probably mean at least half a dozen tries before getting something I think looks tolerable)
Thanks so much for sharing these!
