Summery peplum blouse – Simplicity 2027

Hello everybody!

With the hot days of this summer, even here in northern France, lightweight blouses are quite welcome! Lately, I purchased one lot of vintage patterns, and one of these is this one, simplicity 2027.

What’s great with it is that, according to the type of fabric you use, you can get really different styles! I wanted a summery/hawaii look, so I used a flowery light weight cotton to make it. I used some kind of woody buttons, half shiny, half mat.

It was really easy to sew, and after a very few alterations, I think it fitted well!

With a black straight skirt (home made too :-) ), and my lastely made birdie beret, I had my perfect outfit for the rockabilly concert this week end! Yeeeey! With a high waisted pair of trousers it looks nice too, I tried haha!

What a coincidence! Simplicity recently reissued this one. I bought it last week. It looks darling on you. Now I’m really excited to try it!

I think I might have this pattern in my vintage stash, after seeing yours I definitely need to pull it out and give it a try. Love the fabric and is so well made.

Love this pattern! I’ve made two blouses from it, and love them both! I get a lot of compliments from the older ladies at church who remember wearing peplum blouses when they were young. Yours looks great!

This is great! I like that the peplum isn’t overwhelming and it doesn’t create any extra bulk around the waist and hips. I also adore your hat! Did you make it as well?

I LOVE the fabric, very Hawaiian 50′s. Good work.
