An Embroidered Confection

This lovely number was inspired by a vintage dress I spied on Pinterest. I used Simplicity 1873 for the pattern and did the floral row in cross stitch.

Here’s the inspiration dress, from a fashion blogger in LA who found it at a vintage shop.

I’ll be doing a tutorial next week on how I did the embroidery on the dress if you’d like to stop by!

More on my blog right now about this dress:

  • More fun pictures! I took these while on the Sound of Music tour in Salzburg.
  • Modifications I made from the inspiration dress.

  • Oh my goodness, this dress is marvellous! I admire you so much for cross-stitching all those flowers. It’s one of the best things about sewing that you can just go and recreate a style that you want, and this is such a great example of that. Well done, and thanks for sharing!

  • Aren’t you talented. Great job! I get so much inspiration from Pinterest, unlike you I never put them into practice.

    • Hahaha, I understand! Half the fun is usually just thinking about what you might make! Thank you for your kind words!
