1940’s Blouse Simplicity 1692

Trying to look all 1940ish

I am somewhat pleased with this blouse.  I like how the zipper and buttons came out.  However, don’t use the instructions from the pattern for inserting the zipper.  The instructions want you to sew part of the seam.  Don’t do it! Just leave the seam open and insert the zipper.  I know, because I ripped!  The fit is a bit off.  The neck opening is quite snug and  the waist is snug too, but look at the sleeves!  I made it in a size 10 instead of a 12 because the ease seemed ridiculous.  I may try view D and make the sleeves smaller.  I lined it with cotton batiste which gives it a “richer” feel.

  • Is there a photo of the whole thing or just the thumbnails of part of it? I’m like to see it. ;)
