Gingham Playsuit

Hello, first time poster here but long time lover of retro. I mainly get my inspiration from movies and television costumes, and Allie Hamilton in the Notebook is one of my all time faves for style. I wanted to recycle a tablecloth that I no longer needed and a playsuit was the perfect amount of fabric. Plus who doesn’t need a playsuit in their wardrobe?! I had this particular style from “The Notebook”  in mind:

So I got to work copying the pattern of a pair of shorts I already owned, replacing the zip with a covered elastic waistband for comfort. Paired with the free Burdastyle bandeau pattern (I added halter neck ties) I came up with my own playsuit, quick to sew and very comfy! See more about it on my blog and here is a shot of me practicing my pin up pose!

Oh you look so super cute in your playsuit. Yes everyone needs at least one. I love “the notebook” and have quite a few of Ally’s outfits on my inspiration list. You did a great job making your playsuit. I hope you get to wear it loads this summer.
