Weigel’s 2039… complete!

I’m really enjoying everyone’s Sew for Victory projects!  I’ve never joined a sew along like that, but it sounds cool, I’m keeping my eye out for 40s patterns.  It’s been a long time since I’ve shared my sewing, as usual, no photos, and I’m also working on two dresses for the World of Wearable Art Awards, here in New Zealand (that’s what I should be doing now…).

Yet another favourite in time for the cooler months.  I’m really happy with this one, I made a couple of minor adjustments to the pattern, including a slight hollow bust adjustment, a sway back and short back adjustment to the bodice.  I was a tad conservative, and probably could have taken a little more out for this dress, these two fitting issues have been haunting my sewing – and I’m getting a feel for how much for each new project.

Finished photos, here you go…

As you see, I’m not wearing a full petticoat, I need to replace the elastic on my two, so that will be a future post.  I made up the full skirt with long sleeves, such a beautiful neckline and I cannot wait to make up a slim skirt version!

More photos and the story on my blog.  I’m also really excited as I pick up a bulk lot of patterns last week… can’t wait to start on something from this lot…

These are all on the smaller side.

Love the dress/coat on the top left, and the second on the lower left.

These ones are cool, too!

I love the center night dress,so pretty.

I like the blouses on the right, especially the double collar, version 4.
