Burdastyle Shift Dress

Hello! My first make of the year is a shift dress from the new Burdastyle book, Sewing Vintage Modern. It was a quick dress to make as there are only four pattern pieces and the directions are very straight forward. I simplified the pattern even more by omitting the zipper which saved time. The fabric is a mystery fabric (aka I don’t know what it is) that has some stretch to it, which is probably why the dress can fit over my huge head ;)

If you would like to read more or hear about the inspiration behind my dress, please check out my blog. Happy weekend!

In my past life I was a flapper. Today, I am not as exciting. I just like to read, sew, cook, obsess over Old Hollywood stars, and design things on the computer.

The print is so hypnotic – looks great.

What do you think of the Burda book, overall?

I’m not so sure about the Burda book. Some of the looks are cute, but I would have to really like a pattern to want to trace and add seam allowances. I’m lazy!
