1950’s Christmas Dress, Part Two

I was asked to share a photo of myself wearing my emerald green taffeta Christmas dress from my previous post.  I ended up finding some red/green plaid fabric for the sash that I liked better with more yardage so I could have the sash I wanted.

And here I am in our family Christmas photo 🙂

Our Christmas Photo

About the author: I hail from a Northern California cattle ranch where I live with my husband and our fur kids. I’ve been sewing since I was a wee lass and am in love with fashions of the past — especially the 1910s and 20s. I’m a former anthro-archaeologist who now spends her days rescuing Border Collies, repurposing “trash”, organic gardening and adding to my fabric stash. I sew daily and mostly for myself as a girl can never have too many dresses.

Lovely dress, I think the sash really adds to the dress, nice family photo, I wish my dog would sit still long enough to take a picture!
