A kitsch print 50s inspired dress

Hello, this is my first post on here! I made a 50s style dress over the weekend with a kitsch print.

I used the Vogue 8766 for the top but because the skirt for this particular pattern was a full circle and my fabric just wasn’t wide enough, I cut out rectangles and gathered instrad for the front and back pieces, then obviously cut the back piece in half for the zip!

I do love bows – and wasn’t sure if the dress was enough, what with the full on pattern.. but I’m liking it.

It’s fully lined with one layer of netting.

The fit is good – next time I post, I will model my offering :) I recently made my wedding dress which was lace and again in a 50s style… would anyone like to see this?

So glad to have found this site – their are some amazingly pretty outfits.

This one is beyond cute. I love the slightly bonkers print. It works well with the simple pattern. The bow just perfectly adds to the quirkyness of the fabric.
