1960′s Jackie O suit

I didn’t sew this.  I found it at a tag sale for $2, but I think it’s inspirational for the home sewist to aspire too!
Yes, I wore stockings for the full effect!
Bound button holes!covered buttons, so lovely!
The lining was handsewn with, I believe, a catch stitch.

All of the embellishing is handsewn.

Wow, how beautiful! That material is scrumptious. I love the nubby look of shantung silk (which I’m assuming what this ensemble is made out of).

It is scrumptious! The fabric is a shantung silk, it has a fabulous sheen! I am going to tackle a dress and try my hand at the same kind of hem finishings.
