This is another pattern that I’m pretty sure is classified as a modern pattern, but it’s heavily vintage inspired, in my opinion, with the massive circle skirt and boat neck, it reminds me of a dress from the 50s.
I didn’t alter the pattern at all other than cut it off the fold so it didn’t have the centre seam in the bodice, it’s fully lined and is a pleasure to wear with the heavy, swishy skirt, although it’s a bit tight in the upper arm area. I implemented a few new techniques I’d never tried before when sewing this, including adding bodice and skirt lining, slip stitching, adding pockets and an invisible zipper. It was a great learning experience.
It looks great with gold vintage accessories and a crinoline.
I love it! What pattern did you use?
Nevermind, I just read the title….. Still love the dress!
Great dress. There is nothing like the swish of a full skirt with a petticoat underneath!
