Vintage Vogue V2902

Hey there!

I wanted to share with you my first dress made from a vintage pattern, which is incidentally the first dress I ever did for me! :) I made this for my themed birthday party last year, since I’m a huge fan of the 50s. I try to wear it as much as I can, but I have to admit I’m still not confident enough to wear it regularly. So I just take it out of the closet anytime I have an excuse to do so! :)

The pattern is Vintage Vogue 2902 (Misses/Misses petite). I had to make a size 10 although I usually wear size 6… I also made a petticoat based on a tutorial on Burda Style.

After a few adjustements on the bust (reduced the chest, widenened the waist and moved the darts), I think it looks pretty decent! I have also shortened it by 8 inches to get a more modern length (below knees).

I’ll definitely sew more vintage dresses from now on! For more pictures and informations (in French, sorry!), you can go to my blog, La couture de Lardon.

Welcome onboard! Happy to have you join us :D

You definitely need to wear this dress more often – very pretty! The blue and white is a classic combination. Nice work!

Oh, so cute! I love the ruffly petticoat underneath, and the whole effect is charming.

Happy sewing!

The dress looks beautifull! And I’m envious of the petitcoat :)
