“I wouldn’t be talked into buying any old sewing machine!”

I thought I’d share some advertisements from an old magazine I have…  The magazine is Pins and Needles.

I thought these add were great – I also use a Bernina Record, so I just had to smile.

You can see other scans over on my blog, I didn’t want to overload you all with heaps of high res images!

Here’s my little baby.

  • I have the same machine and i love it to bits ..just given it a complete
overhaul…just hope the oil doesnt spoil my next project :)

  • Cool, mine was my nana’s and I love it also, I had it serviced about two years ago(after about 20 years in storage..) and it’s still going strong.

  • Dig those glittery eyes on the vintage ad model.

  • Lol! I also have that machine, but the european version (black details instead of green). Got it from my grandmother when I was 7 and have used it since. It’s due for a proper service, though, so I’m considering dropping it off at the sewing machine shop before the vacation.

I have a Bernina too! It’s the 860 model and boy, oh boy do I ever love that machine. Bernina’s are awesome and your one is quite lovely. :)

  • My mum has a Bernina machine that she bought in England in 1964.- still going strong and she made cushion covers with applique flowers on them just a couple of years ago. Does anyone know how much she would have paid for it back then?
