I found this fabulous book online and had to have it.  It is a wonderful resource of how to make your own patterns with 1950′s detailing.  It starts with making your own blocks and then progresses to modifying them to achieve the required detailing e.g pleating, darts, sleeve and collar variations etc.  I hope you like my sharing of this wonderful book.

Originally from Christchurch, NZ, I now live in sunny Brisbane. I have always had a fascination with all things old and really think I was born in the wrong time. I now collect sewing and knitting patterns from the 40s, 50s & early 60s.

Oooh I love that cape sleeve! That would look so pretty in something silky or in a crepe…

For anyone who likes it, it is in reprint and available on Amazon. I had this book in my collection, I’ve misplaced it but its a great reference. Must locate my copy!
