Are you sitting comfortably….then I’ll begin this story of sucess from the brink of disaster.
Firstly I was planning using a bodice and skirt pattern to make ’50′s’ dress.
But after compleating the bodice and cutting the skirt out I realized there was imperfections in the fabric right on the front of the skirt. DISASTER! I’d have to scrap the skirt and wait till I could get some more fabric.
Or so I thought….
Thinking on my feet I put elastic into the waistband and a pocket to cover the imperfection.
I also did some embroidery on the pocket. I can wear it with a underskirt to give the skirt volume and it will be perfect for a retro dance.
