Working girl’s dress

Mary Tyler Moore was the 70′s girl to me. This style is definitely something she would have worn in the office working for Mr Grant, sitting next to Murray and listening to Ted rant on about himself.

I bought the fabric from Pitt Trading. They sell pre-loved fabric stashes so I’d like to think this fabric was from the same era.

When I wore this to work this dress bought some nostalgia to my work colleagues too.

I sew because that's what I love to do. I'll try sewing anything.

Yay! for Mary Tyler Moore-inspired (and all other 1970s) fashion. I love the color of your dress. I can’t tell what type of fabric you used, but polyester double knit really is a flattering fabric; it gives a nice shape but isn’t too clingy.

The fabric is a shiny polyester woven that has a bit of shine to it. I do love Mary Tyler Moore. Thank you for your compliment:)

I made this dress a while back and it is both a lovely look and comfortable to wear. What a great job on yours! I wore mine to death.
