Starlet Suit Jacket

As soon as I heard about the Sew Retro: Starlet Suit Jacket course, from Gretchen Hirsch, on Craftsy, I was in. Gertie (of blog for better sewing fame) designed a retro inspired fitted jacket, and instructional course to go along with it. I used all the couture hand tailoring techniques including, padstitching the lapel and collar, welt pockets, and bound buttonholes. I am very proud of the way it came together, thanks to Gertie it really does look couture! See more about the Starlet Suit Jacket on my blog : ErikaMadeIt.

Great fit! Jackets are tough and you really knocked this out of the park! Remember to send Gertie a pic so she can see what you made 🙂

Oh my god you made it! This is the first ‘in the wild’ version I’ve seen, and I’ve got to say you’re definitely setting the bar high!

    Your jacket is absolutely lovely!

LOVELY!! The jacket looks so professional, and the fit is spot on. I also love the color. I have a jacket all cut and ready to go, but had been hesitating about making it. Now that I’ve seen your finished jacket, it inspires me to move the jacket up on my future project list.

It’s lovely! I can’t believe you’ve already finished the class. I’m signed up, but I don’t think I’ll have time to start until the end of April. I’m so excited to see a finished version of the jacket. It really does look great on you!
