I have been on a mad hunt for a dress with a bodice similar to this. Anyone have a recommendation? eBay and etsy are hit or miss; I’ve been doing mostly 1950s dress searches thinking I would have the best luck with that era.

Hi,
How about McCalls – M6350 (It’s modern, not vintage, though)

Ive made this dress. Just be aware that the darts in the bodice are really pointy. It may just be me but I recall reading somewhere that another person had the same issue.
I was going to suggest M6350, but I notice someone already has.
I was just looking at McCalls 6350 this morning! Check out PatternReview.com for some detailed reviews of the pattern.

Oh snap! Modern pattern! You guys are onto something here…. How is the sizing with McCalls? I have never made a modern McCalls.

Gertie’s yellow dress is inspired by anthropologie’s dress.
I was just going to bring Gertie’s yellow dress up, also! She gives a lot of insight into how she recreated that very similar bodice.
i just made McCall’s 6350 and was going to put up a pattern review this morning, I too had big problems with the darts, check out my blog for pictures if your interested. http://sewingwithpatience.blogspot.com.au/2012/03/i-bow-down-to-mccalls-6350.html
Gertie made a dress similar to this one and compared it to a commercial pattern. You might want to check out her posts tagged “yellow dress” to see what she made. http://www.blogforbettersewing.com/search/label/yellow%20dress

you can change it as you like
Instead of sewing the darts in a straight line, curve them a bit more like a ( than a \. That should fix it.
