Marc Jacobs on a budget

Hi Retro Stitchers!

Today is just a quick little post on a skirt I made using an early 1960s pattern, Butterick 2779. It’s ‘fully proportioned’ (ooh la la!) and was an absolute cinch to sew up. I’d definitely suggest this pattern, or one like it, for beginners or for people who want to just have a pretty skirt.

Sometimes you just need a beautiful, easy skirt without the fiddly bits, ammirite?!

I used Marc Jacobs fabric that I bought on sale making this skirt $20. I’m so designer baby.

As always, more on my blog.

Amen to skipping those fiddly bits! I have an A-line skirt pattern made up in a gazillion prints to wear all summer. Love it!
