I just finished up this dress for the little one, from Butterick 7410 (1950s- shown right below).
It’s effectively a mini version of a suspender skirt I made for myself last year: what I had left from that was only really big enough pieces for something like this, and I used the same lining, buttons and construction methods even. It’s fully lined with the tartan in the bodice and red lining in the skirt. I added a narrow net ruffle to the underskirt for a little extra oomph.
