This is a lovely little thing I made from a 1950′s McCall’s 4361 wiggle dress pattern with some killer curtains I found at a thrift store. It took a bit of tweaking around to get it to work with a modern body type (sans retro foundation garments). This is one of my favorite dresses.

I am a professional seamstress and costumer living in New Orleans. I have a serious pattern collecting problem. I love to sew just about anything. But, if left to my own devices, I would prefer to sew anything that was worn between the years 1870 and 1970.

Gorgeous! Those vintage curtains were a great fit for your dress!
The fit is fantastic, and I love those huge roses.
Lovely frock …lovely style and love your tattoos.;)
I adore clothes made from unconventional fabric – curtains, tablecloths, car upholstery…well, you know. Fits you like a glove! I did a wiggle dress from a duvet cover and know what you mean about tweaking the lines to fit a modern body. But it’s worth the time and trouble. Nothing better than a well-fitted wiggle dress! Great job!
I love the neck/shoulder interest. This is a great fit and a lovely dress.
Those are curtains?!?!? Wish I could find some cool curtains like that!
