Happy Sunday everyone

I’ve just finished New Look 6000 and the style reminded me so much of Joan Holloway from Mad Men I had to call it ‘The Holloway’, and have a bit of fun with the reveal pics. ;-)

The Holloway

Pattern review: New Look 6000 (View C with gathered waist)

Difficulty rating for me: 2.5/5

Skills learned: Adding a vent, adding a cuff with a kick, pleating, cutting on the bias. NOT a lapped zipper. Adding bias binding to finish the hem.

Will I make again? Hell yeah – love this 50s/60s style. It’s so flattering and grown up. Better get me some kind of serious job just so I can wear it to work now…

For more fun pics and detail about the dress please just head over to my blog at

This is gorgeous. I love the collar, and the Joanie shot on your blog cracked me up.
