Good afternoon! I’m Jane and I blog at Handmade Jane. I just wanted to share with you my very first jacket .

I made the jacket using a pattern and instructions from the Built by Wendy Coats and Jackets book, but added my own collar to give it an early sixties look. The grey wool fabric was a charity shop bargain and the buttons are vintage from the 1940′s.

More construction details and photos on my blog. x

I've been sewing for two years and am now at the stage where I make most of my own clothes. I love vintage style, vintage fabric and, most importantly, vintage sewing patterns! I'm influenced by most styles from the late 1930's to the early 1960's but if I had to choose the decade that most captures my imagination, it would have to be the 1940's. Looking forward to sharing more of my finished garments with you. x

You are so talented!
I love the lining.
Beautiful! Love the fabric and the lining. And great job on altering the pattern!
