Hi all! My name is Simoree (most people call me Smee) and I’m relatively new to sewing. I was gifted a simple little Brother XL-5340 that I named Lynette, and so far together we’ve made a few simple costumes (Arthur and Patsy from Monty Python for my girl and I last year is my favourite so far). As a WWII history nerd, I’m drawn the styles of the late 30s-early 40s with a little 50s and 60s thrown in. I’ve lurked here for a long time but have never felt qualified to really post anything, as I am mainly a knitter and am looking to get into more sewing projects as a way to preserve my wrists.
I’m looking forward to getting into my grandmother’s stash and seeing what she has collected over the years. Already she’s given me a few Christmas decorating and craft books from the 70s, and I’m sure there are some from before that hidden somewhere. I am also looking forward to getting to know everyone here and possibly picking your brains for helpful hints and tricks to become better with sewing.

Welcome Smee! I can’t wait to see what you create and share with us! I just joined recently too after reading and commenting for ages.
