Vintage style sailor trousers

The pattern isn’t vintage, but the look and style of these sailor trousers definitely is. Oh yes, and so are the buttons!  I’m really happy with the drapey 1940’s feel of them and they’re SO comfortable to wear.  To read more about the construction process and see more pics, please hop over to my blog Handmade Jane. x

  • Those are really lovely, and the buttons add to them so much! Amazing how one detail like that can make or break a garment. I think this is possibly the first time I've ever been tempted to go out and buy a modern trouser pattern. Nice job!

  • Great that you made those pants because they are my next project after finishing Simpl.3688! So I can read about your experience before I get started :). They look awesome and it is a great idea to transform them into sailor pants.

  • Nice job, I would like to sew a pair of those but I have never done trouser and I guess they are difficult to do.

  • You and your outfit are adorable.
