Pretty in Pink

in Vintage Sewing

Here’s a quick look at something I found in a charity shop recently. It’s a pink wool blend shirt dress. I’d be interested if anyone wanted to take a guess at the age of this garment – it had a metal zip in the side. 1980s? Pleats were sewn shut down to the hip. I ended up ripping the seams holding the pleats shut and shortening by a few inches. I also removed the belt loops and made a couple of other tweaks.

More info, photos and details at my blog.

Yeah, I would say the late 70's early 80's. I love the pleats down the front, and your reconstruction of great!
