Vintage Sewing

Vintage style top

June 9, 2011

I made this vintage style top from an old cardigan I wanted to refashion.I’m pretty pleased with the result.although I might add straps later. It does stay up just fine so I’ll see whether I need them first as I quite like it as it is.I did the sewing by hand as I have tried to do similar things on my machine and had some very mixed results.More projects on my blog

I really like the rushing at the front.

  1. This is a clever redo…and I like how you took your picture against a white background. Very striking. You might try some tulle on your new vintage style top. That and a few rhinestone pins or buttons would be incredibly striking.

  3. Thank you for your comment! I always take my pics there because the light is best at that spot and as I take my photo's with my very basic mobile phone camera I need all the light I can get. I think I might wear this with a full circle skirt with a big petticoat underneath . some pins could work but then I would have to add straps as the weight would probably drag it down
