1940s

late 40s day dress

June 14, 2011

Hello everyone! I haven’t posted here in ages, but I wanted to get back into the habit and show you a dress I whipped up a couple weeks ago. When I spotted the new Vintage Vogue reissue #8728 and that it was suitable for jersey as well as wovens, I knew I had to make it. I had a length of cream-colored jersey in my stash and decided to use that for my dress. The pattern was a dream to work with–much easier than it looks–and I adore the finished dress.

I have more details on my blog, Elegant Musings, if you’re interested!

  1. I love this pattern and it is in my collection.

I'm going to hack it up for something else though.

You did a great job on it.

  2. This is beautiful! The way that the jersey drapes with those gathers is lovely. Your styling is wonderful as well (your hair and all of your accessories).
