I bought 4m of wool-mix houndstooth from the remnant’s box for £12, which was such an insanely good deal that I couldn’t resist. However, I’m not really a houndstooth person, so I have no idea what to do with it. It’s such a vintage-appropriate fabric, that this seemed like the place to ask. My favourite eras are 70s and 40s. Any suggestions?

houndstooth would be awesome for a 40's jacket with a peplum.
I'm envious of your find. I agree with tammyO that a 40s jacket w/peplum would look great. You'd possibly even have enough left over to do a simple 40s skirt with a few gores or inverted pleats.
