Vintage Blue Lace Restyled Dress

This dress is vintage but i did so much work on it, it may as well have been a new dress. This dress was very small and was in pretty bad shape. I made a panel using the fabric i had cut off the hem and added it to the center back seam of the dress to make it larger. I added gray lace and blue ribbon on the front. It even has a matching shrug/bolero jacket. It is now in good
vintage condition, i’m pretty happy with how it turned out.

  • I think it's gorgeous, and I'm highly impressed about making a dress larger with the fabric from the remains on the edges, etc. I've never tried that….I NEED to be able to "largeify" dresses, but I've never tried. Interesting concept. lymeade.blogspot.com

  • I'm afraid I always shudder when I see the words 'vintage upcycling', but you've actually done a very lovely job in making an old dress wearable whilst remaining faithful to its vintage spirit. Very nice.
