New poster and a new dress

April 13, 2011

Greetings from Minneapolis! I’ve been a long-time fan of the blog and everyone’s talented work. I’ve finished my first sewing project using a vintage pattern and wanted to share.

The pattern is Simplicity 7120, and I’m thrilled with how well it turned out. I do plan to work on my photography skills a bit, though. Also, I should mention the print is a little wild for me, but once summer kicks in here I think it should be a pretty fun dress to wear.

I blog here: http://craftylunchbreak.blogspot.com/

  1. I envy the commitment and dedication to your craft! I would sew more and or finish my many projects if I had the time. Cheers to happy hours with needle and thread.

  2. Super cute! And thanks for posting! I also have this pattern, but have never used it. Now that I see yours is so cute, I think I'll dig it out of the pattern bin!

  3. Thanks, everyone!
@Ashley Marie, I know, it's so tough to find time, and then to return back to a project if I get interrupted.
@A.J.A., I'm still amused it took me so long to pair up this fabric with this pattern.
@Just Jess, I completely agree. I love the illustrations on these older patterns, but I especially love seeing how they look on real bodies! Definitely go for it. It's pretty easy.
