Hi everyone! I’m Anna from Malmikon palmikot and I am new to the vintage sewing scene. I started collecting and sewing vintage garnments only this year and have learned so much already! I’m so exited to get to join this community! I come from Finland where the sewing community hasn’t really found its way to the blogosphere yet, so how lucky was I to find a whole community of sewists waiting! The name of my blog is in Finnish, although I blog in English. The name Malmikon palmikot means Malmikko’s braids or Malmikko’s cables, since the word palmikko refers to both braids and cableknitting. Malmikko is an old family name and a way for me to salute my granny and her roots.
I’ve mostly sewn dresses and skirts so far, but my goal is to have a pair of trousers, a jacket and an evening gown in my closet by the end of the year, and more dresses of course!
I love your yellow dress!
Very nice, great job! vintage pattern can be challenging but fun, this one looks like a winner!
The yellow dress looks very nice and is just perfect for Easter.Well done!
This is fabulous and a perfect colour!

great pattern for that yellow dress! love your lace yoke with the yellow print…so fun!
I love the lace…easy to do, but rarely done. I don't even do it enough myself. But there are scads of inexpensive lace bolts yelling my name at the local fabric store. Egads. What do I do?? Sew, sew, sew!
I just wanted to add that I like the lace trim on the pockets on the pattern version…it fits my rule of doing any embellishment in at least three places on a garment. It just makes the garment look more balanced and less like that one design element was a happy mistake!
aivan ihana mekko 🙂 tervetuloa joukkoon!
Your dress turned out lovely.
