A happy new member!

Hi everyone! I am so happy to be a part of the Sew Retro family! My name is Sofia and I recently started a blog called pretty odd wonders. The blog is mainly about my sewing endeavors but I blog about all sorts of things that inspire me. I’m so excited that I get to share my vintage pieces with you as I go along!

Here is the latest one I’ve done. I used a Simplicity pattern from 1954. I’ve been dreaming of a high waisted 50’s style denim skirt for a long time, so I decided to go with medium weight denim and added some navy velvet by the hem. The fabric was lovely to use and stays in shape on its own. Here are some pictures of the end result – detailed images can be found on my blog!

Thanks,
Sofia

  • Very cute. The velvet trim (appliqué?) is lovely and worth all the time and effort I'm sure it was!.

  • Lovely skirt! I love how the denim give it some shape. It's very elegant.
