Vintage Vogue 8581 Full 50’s Skirt

I love this skirt! I’ve used it before but attached it to a bodice. This is the first time I made it as it was intended. Though the instructions didn’t call for it I fully lined it. I also shortened it per my customer’s request. Her color selections were great. I was a little unsure at first but now that I seen it finished it I’m very happy with it. I was concerned about lining it up. I wouldn’t call it a plaid but it has blocks of colors that need to be lined up like plaids do. It also has a right side hidden pocket. Here is the pattern:

    For this skirt you could actually use a couple of modern pattens. They just don't have the pocket and if you didn't want it tea length you would have shorten it.

    Butterick 4114 love this one as they have a petticoat included. It is OOP now but still obtainable.
    Simplicity 3847 two lengths plus petticoat.
