I’m currently working on a muslin for DuBarry 5020. I think I have most of the fitting issues that need to addressed identified but I need some help on how to go about fixing one of them. The problem is that when I lift my arm, the entire blouse comes up with it. I need add a bit of width to the lower part of the sleeve but I don’t know if that will have any effect on this particular problem. If you can spare a few minutes to help me out, I’d greatly appreciate it! There are more pictures and a better explanation on my blog, Sew June! TiA!

I would take two measurements: One from your shoulder to under your armpit, & give yourself some ease. That will be the circumference of your armsyce–extend the armhole size to that measurement, measuring the same way on the pattern/muslin, and the second, measure around the widest part of your upper arm (again, loosely, you'll need it with some ease) and increase your sleeve pattern/muslin to that measurement at the widest part. You'll end up cutting deeper into the armsyce, and you'll have to recut the sleeve. I've had to do this on a DuBarry before. Those ladies in the 40's had tiny little arms!!!
Sorry–I spelled armscye wrong. Oops.
Thank you!
