howdy sewing friends! i have a wedding to go to at the end of this week so i thought i’d take the time to make a new dress. the pattern was an ebay find and i found this embroidered cotton at joann’s. there was only two yards of the fabric left so i snatched it up. the nice thing about the fabric is that it eliminated the need to hem- yay! this pattern was super easy to follow. i did have to change the neckline though- it was hitting me at the collar bone and i didn’t think it was very flattering so i lowered it a bit. the finished product is a little more blousey than the picture looks, but i don’t mind. i’ll be able to wear it in the summer and in the fall with a cardigan. i think maybe i’ll make this again with sleeves and a more retro print….

Very cute. It would look nice with a wide belt like the one shown on the pattern envelope. The neckline looks good too.
